Gaza: The myth of the “open-air prison”.

When Israel gave Gaza independence in 2005, Gazans had full control of their land and sea borders and airspace with their own international airport.

In 2007, a Muslim supremacist and anti-Semitic party, Hamas, took power with the destruction of Israel as its main agenda. To this end, they used their ports, airports and borders to import weapons to attack Israel. In its own defense, in the face of military aggression, Israel had to close Gaza's land and sea borders and airports.

If the Gazans feel confined, it is to the policies of their anti-Semitic government that they owe this situation.

That said, Gaza has never been blockaded, it has an open southern border with Egypt. If this country also closes its border with Gaza, that does not depend on Israel.

Some pics of the “open-air prison”:

The Gaza Strip is only the 63rd most densely populated region in the world.

According to the CIA, it has a population of 1,957,062 inhabitants over an area of 139 square kilometers, which would represent a density of 14,029 inhabitants per square kilometer, lower than the density of the city of Paris (20,641/km²) or Tel Aviv (23,067/km²).

If we compare Gaza to a country, it would rank sixth, but is not even close to the top two – Macau (56,247) and Monaco (51,167).

Gaza City is the 63rd most densely populated urban area in the world, with 108,790 people per square kilometer. This is well below Bnei Brak in Israel (197,240 inhabitants per square kilometer). A more relevant comparison is that of Manhattan, which covers 59 square kilometers compared to 17 for Gaza City. Its population density exceeds 181,818 inhabitants per square kilometer.
